The Sights Unseen Tour - Day 1 Planned Tour Route for Saturday, October 27:
Start: Chattanoga, TN The actual route and distance is subject to change. Check the blog daily for updates! Also check the photo gallery for pictures taken on the ride! Planned Events:
Summary: The day begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Discovery Museum, in downtown Chattanooga. Samantha and Uncle Barry and all of the Samsride.org staff and pilots will gather to prepare for the start of the tour. Samanatha will be greeting guests and media and conducting interviews right up until the official start time of the tour at 11:00 a.m. The tour will travel south through downtown Chattanooga and continue down S. Broad Street, with a short stop at Chattanooga Christian School for a check presentation. When the ride resumes, Samantha and Uncle Barry will meander around the edge of Lookout Mountain on Cummings Highway, then turn south on Wauhatchie Pike and across the Georgia Line. They will next turn on to Georgia 299 and continue back into Tennessee. They will parallel Interstate 24, on the old highway, for several miles until reaching Nickajack Reservoir. There they will move over to Highway 41 and cross Nickajack Lake on the historic bridge. The tour continues on Highway 41 until the first day's terminus in Jasper, Tennessee. The First Baptist Church of Jasper will host a special prayer service and send-off on Sunday morning.
